The 15500-series was introduced in 2019 with a new movement – the automatic AP 4302 calibre. This particular iteration is encased in a 41mm stainless steel surrounding a grey Grande Tapisserie dial with a date window on a stainless steel bracelet that gives this timepiece unique depth and materiality as well as its wearer, versatility.
Established in 1875 by partners Jules-Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet, Audemars Piguet is one of the last remaining watchmaking maisons operating under the original founders. The brand has created several technical innovations throughout their existence including the first minute-repeater wristwatch in 1892 and the first skeletonized pocketwatch in 1934. In 1972, Audemars Piguet introduced the Royal Oak designed by Gérald Genta, which was the most expensive stainless-steel luxury sports watch at the time. Since then, the brand has released other iconic models such as the record-breaking Royal Oak Self-Winding Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin, the world’s thinnest automatic perpetual calendar wristwatch.
