Audemars Piguet is often associated with the venerable Royal Oak and Offshore collections, but not many have heard about their new model line – CODE 11.59 – a collection of 13 references across 6 contemporary models designed to show what a modern Audemars Piguet is capable of. This particular Ref. 15210OR is an elegant time and date watch that features a 41mm red gold case and black dial utilizing a new caliber 4302 automatic time and date movement.
Established in 1875 by partners Jules-Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet, Audemars Piguet is one of the last remaining watchmaking maisons operating under the original founders. The brand has created several technical innovations throughout their existence including the first minute-repeater wristwatch in 1892 and the first skeletonized pocketwatch in 1934. In 1972, Audemars Piguet introduced the Royal Oak designed by Gérald Genta, which was the most expensive stainless-steel luxury sports watch at the time. Since then, the brand has released other iconic models such as the record-breaking Royal Oak Self-Winding Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin, the world’s thinnest automatic perpetual calendar wristwatch.
