Audemars Piguet introduced a limited edition of the Royal Oak to honor English professional golfer Nick Faldo who previously served as its brand ambassador. This timepiece was made in a unique steel and platinum configuration, featuring a variant of the emblematic Grande Tapisserie blue dial that was redesigned to focus significantly on the luminous Arabic numerals set on its outer dial. The example featured is part of the limited release of only 450 pieces, making this a highly prized collectible amongst AP enthusiasts.

Established in 1875 by partners Jules-Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet, Audemars Piguet is one of the last remaining watchmaking maisons operating under the original founders. The brand has created several technical innovations throughout their existence including the first minute-repeater wristwatch in 1892 and the first skeletonized pocketwatch in 1934. In 1972, Audemars Piguet introduced the Royal Oak designed by Gérald Genta, which was the most expensive stainless-steel luxury sports watch at the time. Since then, the brand has released other iconic models such as the record-breaking Royal Oak Self-Winding Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin, the world’s thinnest automatic perpetual calendar wristwatch.
