This version of the Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked has been especially executed in black ceramic. Like its counterpart in stainless steel, the timepiece tackles the issue of time precision with a second balance wheel and balance-spring assembly on the same axis seen on its dial, resulting in a beautiful skeletonized wristwatch that gravitates towards you.

Established in 1875 by partners Jules-Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet, Audemars Piguet is one of the last remaining watchmaking maisons operating under the original founders. The brand has created several technical innovations throughout their existence including the first minute-repeater wristwatch in 1892 and the first skeletonized pocketwatch in 1934. In 1972, Audemars Piguet introduced the Royal Oak designed by Gérald Genta, which was the most expensive stainless-steel luxury sports watch at the time. Since then, the brand has released other iconic models such as the record-breaking Royal Oak Self-Winding Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin, the world’s thinnest automatic perpetual calendar wristwatch.
