Straight from watch masters Artisans de Genève, the La Barrichello presents the revered Rolex Daytona Ref. 116520 in a completely reworked way. Like the previous La Montoya made for Juan Pablo Montoya, this La Barrichello is made to F1 veteran Rubens Barrichello’s personal specifications, with some key differences from the La Montoya. To start, La Barrichello’s overall aesthetic is much darker and more mechanical.

While La Montoya featured splashes of color reflecting the colors of the Colombian flag, La Barrichello favors more neutral colors – white, black, and grey, with a touch of red. La Montoya’s bezel is made from forged carbon, while La Barrichello’s is a more standard ceramic application. While both feature reworked dials, La Barrichello adds an interesting touch by making the sub-dials asymmetrical, beveled by hand.

La Barrichello’s chronograph movement has been completely reworked as well, with the rotor crafted from a piece of 21ct. gold, treated with black DLC coating and based on the shape of Ruben Barrichello’s car trims. More than 260 hours of work went into La Barrichello to reflect his passion for the mechanical style of racing cars, and it certainly shows with this beautiful piece.
