The Santos de Cartier is one of the most iconic watches from Cartier, dating back to 1904. It was built for the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, who wore it on his pioneering flights. This makes it one of the first tool wristwatches (and likely the first aviation watch) ever produced. This particular piece stands out because of its sleek black case: steel, with a coating of diamond-like carbon (DLC). Each timepiece comes with an extra strap option that allows its user to modify this classic timepiece to suit their varying needs.

Established in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier after inheriting his mentor’s workshop, Cartier has grown to become one of the most prestigious jewelry manufactures in the world. Cartier’s notable ventures into watchmaking include one of the world’s first modern wristwatches, the Santos de Cartier, the iconic Cartier Tank, and one of the first water-resistant watches ever created, the Cartier Pasha.
