Founded in 1973, the brand Pequignet produces their watches in the French village of Morteau, near the Swiss border. In 2011, the brand celebrated the launch of their Calibre Royal movement, which was designed by the brand and is currently assembled in-house using a majority of components from French suppliers. The Calibre Royal features several complications including day of the week, big date, power reserve and moon phase displays. Today this Pequignet calibre is available in the Royale series and a simplified variant of the movement, the Calibre Initial, is present in the latest Concorde series.
