Francois-Paul Journe is one of the most renowned watchmakers in the world, and his talent, expertise, and incredible technical genius is on full display with their premium timepiece, the F.P. Journe Chronomètre à Résonance — the world’s first resonance wristwatch, and one of a handful of watches in the world that use resonance phenomenon to enhance timekeeping accuracy and reliability in their timepieces. Initially used in clocks with pendulums, the use of acoustic resonance helps in achieving incredible timekeeping consistency and accuracy at a level that is hard to match in the world of mechanical wristwatches. It is an incredibly delicate function, and very difficult to incorporate in wristwatches, which makes it an incredible accomplishment.
Named after its founder, François-Paul Journe, Swiss high-end manufacture F.P. Journe’s has elevated itself into one of the most well-respected brands in the industry since its founding in 1999, having won several awards including the L'Aiguille d'Or at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve. With a strictly limited production of 850 to 900 watches per year, F.P. Journe’s timepieces are instant collector’s items. Some of their notable timepieces include the Chronometre a Resonance and the T-30 wristwatch, designed as a tribute to F.P. Journe’s first tourbillon watch from 1983.
